BROADLEY, IAN CRAIG “Weasel” - (Dedicated 31-year Veteran of the St. Catharines Fire and Emergency Services; Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 138 Merritton) Peacefully, where he wanted to be, surrounded by his loving family at home, on Friday, September 5, 2025 in his 77th year. Soulmate, sweetheart and love of her life, to Donna (née Wright) for more than 52 years. Loving and supportive Dad to Nick (Melissa) and Kristen (Joel) Szigatti. Proud Grandpa to Abigail Szigatti and Boppa to Landon and Lucas, Ian was predeceased by his infant granddaughter Willa Marie in 2017. He was a much-loved brother to Brian (Angie), Jeff (Kendra), Greg (Shelly) and Tom (Jackie), and brother-in-law to Carol (Kevin) Romyn. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, his chosen family: Linda Roher, Jesse (Shondra) Roher, John (Judy) Hardman, Chris Ensor and his many friends and neighbours. Travelling was a passion of Ian and Donna’s, starting before they were married, when they hitchhiked across Europe. Later, they traveled to each of the Canadian provinces, back to Europe and spent many seasons in Daytona Beach. He was an integral part of his children’s sports careers, first as a medic for Nick’s soccer team, and later instituting the medic boats for Kristen at the St. Catharines Rowing Club. He loved all things outdoors: hunting, boating, fishing and golf, and he loved to cook, too.  Ian was also part of cribbage league for almost 50 years.  His second pride, after his family, was his 1929 blue Pontiac, that could still be seen participating in this years Merritton Labour Day Parade, with Nick behind the wheel. Visitors are invited to pay respects at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 2:00 -4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Ian will be laid to rest at a public graveside service on Saturday, September 13, at 10:30 AM at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill.
