Hugh Patrick Cosgrove

COSGROVE, Hugh Patrick ~ peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the NHS-St. Catharines Site on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 61 years to Joyce (Deeney) Cosgrove. Cherished father of Cynthia (Kim) Marshall, Paula (Brent) Ransom, Greg (Kim) Cosgrove and Andree (Tom) McMullen. Devoted papa of Laura and Sarah Marshall, Tyler (Jen) and Brittney (Greg) Ransom, Ashley (Aaron) and Adam Cosgrove, Bradley (Lauryn) and Jordana (Josh) McMullen. Predeceased by his parents Hugh (1974) and Mary (1964) Cosgrove, his sisters Margaret and Rita Cosgrove, Irene Kearns, Jean Catterall, his twin sister Helen Arthur and William Davies. Hugh was born and raised in Merritton and was a life long parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Merritton. He was the past chairman of the Lincoln County Separate School Board, the St. Catharines Transit Commission, the Denis Morris Board of Governors, was a 4th Degree Monsignor Morris Assembly #864, St. Catharines and a member of the Pope Paul 23rd Council #9222, St. Catharines. Hugh was also a member of the St. Catharines Sports Hall of Fame. He retired in 1989 as Vice-President of Hayes-Dana having worked there for 40 years. Hugh will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and gentle man who enjoyed a long friendship with many people.
