MEFFE, GRAZIETTA “Grace” (née Pizzacalla) It is with great sadness the family of Grace announces her passing. Surrounded by her family’s love, on Oct 20, 2025, in her 88th year, she went to be in the arms of our Lord, and we will miss her deeply.

Beloved wife of the late Nicola (1982). Caring mother of Frances, Teresa (Doug), and Angelo (Kim). Cherished grandmother to Jason (Isabelle), Brenda, and Marilyn (Marcello), Jordan and Lauren, Allie (Brent) and Sarah, and Camryn, Alexander, and Andrew. Sweet great-grandmother to Jessica and Laura, Hunter and Sophia, and Ethan and Allie.

Grace was a kind and gentle soul, known for her warmth and compassion. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Carmela (Diodoro) and Lucia (Carmine), in-laws Giovanni (Antonietta), Angelina (Frank) and Michele (Anna), and is predeceased by her parents Antonio and Maria, siblings Giuseppe (Giuseppina), Michele (Elena), Pietro (Giuseppina), and Filomena (Vince), and in-laws Raffaela and Francesco, Cesina (Alido) and Mary (Peter). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Grace was born and raised in Castropignano, Italy and she immigrated to Canada in 1959, at the age of 21, to join her siblings and make Thorold her home. She will be lovingly remembered for the deep affection she held for her family, expressed most genuinely through the gifts of her kitchen and vegetable garden. She took great pride in her hard work in the garden and found joy in sharing its abundance with those she cared for most. She showed her love in the way she knew best – by preparing generous meals, sharing her favourite cookies and Neapolitan ice cream, and calling to make sure her family members were safe, had eaten, and had their slippers on.

Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3:30 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Friday, October 24, at 10:30 AM, followed by the Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.

The family is profoundly grateful to the First-Floor team at Tabor Manor, whose expert, attentive care and unfailing kindness went above and beyond throughout Grace’s time with them.
