Walsh, Gordon Edward (Lefty) ~ (May 9, 1918 - January 1, 2008) With great love and devotion, Robert Walsh and Maureen Walsh Loweth announce the death of their father, Gordon Walsh, affectionately known as Lefty. Born in Espanola, Ontario, he died in St. Catharine's with his children at his side. Gordon was the son of Gordon Walsh and Elizabeth Gollaghly, and brother of Richard, Kay, Walter, George and Betty, all of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by Irene (nee Dove), his wife of 66 years, in 2007, their son Gordon in 1978, and their eldest grandchild Heather in 2000. Lefty worked in the automotive industry at Thompson Products and later at Anthes, and finished his career at ETF Tool and Die. He will be fondly remembered by his son Robert, daughter Maureen, son-in-law Doug, grandchildren Tenney and Aidan, Heather's husband Roman, and great-grandchildren Kaz, Marja and Tomas Bialach. Lefty will also be especially missed by his nieces and nephews, and by his friends and neighbours of many years. Lefty served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Leading Stoker, on destroyers in the North Atlantic and the English Channel, and was a long time member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #138, Merritton.
