Giuseppe Carpino

Carpino, Giuseppe "Joe" ~ It is with great sadness that the family of Joe, announce his passing after a brief illness on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Fiorina (1995). He leaves behind his precious daughters, Maria (Pacifico) Piergentili, Joanne (Danny) Di Vizio and Judy (Tony) Spadafora. He was the cherished nonno of Fred (Lisa) Piergentili, Eugene (Angela) Spadafora, Joe (Natalie) Piergentili, Deanna (Jesse) Lauder, Ann-Marie (Gerrardo) Melchionna, Anthony Di Vizio, Melissa (Ian) Thompson and Aaron Di Vizio. Nonno Joe will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his great grandchildren, Breanna, Justin, Ava, Antonio, Katarina, Sophia, Stella, Elena, Sonny, Rylan, Madeline, Giulianna, Gianna, Gerard and Fiona. He will also be missed by his companion of many years, Sylvia St. Gelais as well as his caregiver, Thelma. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his sisters and brother, Luisa Altomare, Santina (Silvio) Covelli, Ida Borrelli and Ralph (Novella) Carpino and his sisters-in-law Agata Carpino, Adelfa Carpino and Rita Carpino as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe is predeceased by his parents Francesco and Maria Carpino, his stepmother Maria Carpino, his granddaughter Elena, his brothers and sister Vince (Maria), Fiorina (Luigi), Luigi (Elena), Rosario, Emilio, Adolfo and his wife's siblings and their spouses. Joe retired from Food City in 1986. He was passionate about his garden and he loved to cook and bake for his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness for which he will long be remembered. Joe was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold, Club Italia and Associazione Nazionale Combattenti E. Reduci.
