Taylor, George Arthur "Clickey" ~ surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, George went to meet his beloved sons Gregory (2011) and Joseph (1966) at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Donna (Ricci) Taylor. Loving father of Jim Taylor. Bampa will be missed by his grandchildren Darcy and Alysha and by his great grandchildren Seth and Gage. Predeceased by parents George and Laura Taylor. Dear brother of Joyce (Gord) Cowan, Bob (Mary Ellen) Taylor, Bev (Bob) Mason, Bill (Dolly) Taylor and Harold (Carol) Taylor and brother-in-law of Rosemary (Cec) Hoekstra, Cathy (Reg) MacLeod and Jim (Margaret) Ricci. George will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. George loved the Christmas season, putting up the Christmas lights for the City of St. Catharines and decorating his house with the many Santa Claus' that he collected. The season won't be the same without "Mr. Christmas". He was a Foreman for the Sports Park for the City of St. Catharines for 35 years. Before and after his retirement he took on the job of Head Groundskeeper at the Merritton Community Park during the St. Catharines Baby Jays stay (1980-1996). George received many awards and certificate of achievements for his involvement in community sports. He was inducted in to the St. Catharines Sports Hall of Fame in 2009, as a coach who positively influenced many young men's lives, some of whom went on to play in the major baseball leagues. As well, he led his baseball teams to 6 Ontario championships. George's expertise in the development of professional baseball mounds, diamonds and fields led to recognition from the New York Penn League as the Merritton Community Park met the Pro Standards for field conditions. George acted as a consultant for the development of new baseball fields.
