GRAMPOLA, GARY JOSEPH - Of St Catharines, passed away at age 86 on April 6, 2025, at Welland Hospital following a brief period of health challenges. Gary was a New Year's baby born in 1939 to parents Michael and Elizabeth (née Ambrosia) of Thorold. He was the beloved big brother to five siblings, the uncle to seven nephews, and a niece, and the great uncle to four boys and two girls. He is survived by his sisters Sandra Littner and Mary Rose Delaney; sister-in-law Nancy Grampola, and brothers-in-law Addie Bradley, Dick Delaney, and Michael Littner; nephews Richard Delaney, Ross Littner, Dean Littner, Ian Grampola, Peter Grampola, and Jeremy Grampola; and niece Renay Wilson. He is predeceased by his brothers Michael and Peter, his sister Grace Bradley, and nephew Jody. He we be sadly missed by his lifetime friend Mike Bell and good friend Shane.


In his youth Gary showed skill and promise as an artist having created landscape paintings that are enjoyed and treasured to this day by family members. Gary was employed at the Ontario Paper Company in Thorold beginning in the late 1950's. He had been retired for many years during which time he enjoyed his home, gardening, barbecuing, and following sports, particularly hockey and his favourite team, The Toronto Maple Leafs.


Gary's wishes are to be cremated and honoured by a private family gathering. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Lakeview Cemetery. Those wishing to express condolences, or leave a donation to Heart & Stroke in Gary's memory may do so online by way of Bocchinfusofh.com
