Gary Buccella

BUCCELLA, GARY – Passed away on January 2, 2025, in the arms of his loving wife Elena. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his niece Loree Mason, nephew Derek (Kim) Winstanley, and their families: Josh (Christina), Brittanee (Wyatt), Justin (Vici) and Courtnee (Noah). Special stepfather to Larry (Sharbra) Porter and Julia (Radu) Rus. Papa to Jared (Jill), Jenna and Sophia. Gary is predeceased by his parents Christopher and Louise, sister Geraldine, brother-in-law Dave, infant sister Marianne and wife Joan.

Born and raised in Thorold, Gary started working at Provincial Paper in 1963 and soon after became involved in the local Union. He joined the Canadian Paperworkers Union in 1973 and in 1992 he formed the Independent Paperworkers Union which he ran until his retirement in 2012.

Gary will be deeply missed by his caring and devoted friends Denis, Lorne and Steve.

Per Gary's wishes, a private family service was held, and Gary was laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, donations in Gary's memory to Hospice Niagara and online condolences may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
