DEARBORN, EVELYN “EVA” - A Celebration of Eva’s life will be at St. John’s Anglican Church Port Dalhousie 80 Main Street, St. Catharines on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Masks are optional. On Thursday January 13, 2022 at Niagara Health St. Catharines Site in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Wilson Arthur “Art”. Dear mother of Judy (the late Ken) Johnston, Wayne (Bonnie) and Tom (Heather). Proud Grandma of Michael (Maryann), Scott, Wesley (Megan), Adam (Jenn), Brad (Michelle), Jennifer (Andrew), Nicholas (Shengnan) and Melanie. Great Grandma of Matthew, Connor, Marissa, Jesse, Lucas, Mason, Hunter, Adelaide, James, Grace, Wyatt, Fiona and Eden. Eva will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Eva is predeceased by her parents Lillian and Frank Hawes, her stepfather Emile “Jack” Rooney, and her siblings Iris (Oscar) Beamer, Barbara (Norman) Bradbury and Frank (Charlotte) Hawes. Eva was a longtime member of St. George’s Anglican Church, St. Catharines, and she most recently attended St. John’s Anglican in Port Dalhousie. She was also a leader in the Port Dalhousie Girl Guides and a volunteer with many organizations, but most importantly, she was the best cookie maker in Port Dalhousie. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her longtime doctor, Dr. Joseph Rosloski for many years of care and friendship. Also, special thanks to all staff of the Niagara Health St. Catharines Site 5th floor B Unit Orthopedic Surgery for the wonderful care, including Dr. Tom Greavette and Palliative Care Team. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Eva’s life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in memory of Eva may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John’s Anglican Church Port Dalhousie. Online condolences can be left at Bocchinfusofh.com. This Sunday, January 23 in honour and memory of longtime Port Dalhousie resident Eva Dearborn, the Bells of Hope at St. John’s will ring out at 12 noon.
