Elvira Cecchini

Cecchini, Elvira ~ peacefully, on May 17, 2010 Elvira went to join her beloved husband Gino, son Archie and grandson Timmy. Born in Fiorenzula Di Focara, Province of Pesaro in 1909. At the tender age of 18, she came to Canada to marry Gino. Together they operated the Red & White grocery store in Thorold for 37 years. They spent many good times at Rice Lake fishing and later traveling to Italy, Cuba and Mexico. Elvira was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and watched them on TV every chance she could. Cherished mother of Anna and son-in-law Scotty Girotti and daughter-in-law Loretta Cecchini. Nonna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael (Phyllis), Marie, Gary (Sarah) Girotti and Jim (Wendy), Cindy, Andrew (Mellissa) Cecchini and by her great grandchildren Jen (Cory), Michael (Gerri-Ann), Emily, Justin, Ben, Skyla, Steven, Mathew, Anderson and Max. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. A special thank you to the staff at Linhaven Home for the Aged (Dalhousie Section).
