WINTERBOTTOM, Elizabeth Caroline (née Horton) - Lovingly known as Beth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 6, 2026, at the St. Catharines Marotta Family Hospital, in her 83rd year.
Daughter of Winnifred Elizabeth Horton (née Smith) and William John Horton, Beth spent her life in St. Catharines, Ontario, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert, of 64 years, and by her nine children: Michael (Debbie), Geoffrey, Caroline Romero (René), Allison Digirolamo (Marc), Rachael Bujtas (Mike), Meredith, Jonathan (Emily), Chris, and Leianna.
She was also Grandma to twenty deeply cherished grandchildren who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life: Robbie, Joey, Josh, Sean, Emily, Jenna, Steven, Anthony, Simon, Myrna, Meagan, Gabriella, Kayleigh, Paolo, Madison, Kingston, Jackson, Tayla, Gage and Corden and two great grandchildren Diana and Arthur.
Beth was the sister of the late Bill Horton (Mary) and Cathy Horton and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She held a very special place in her heart for her former daughter-in-law Rose, and she treasured her lifelong friendship with Joanne Quil (Stan).
Particularly proud of her career as a switchboard operator at Brock University, Beth more recently enjoyed returning to the university community through her part-time work invigilating exams. She was well known for her sharp wit and playful spirit— especially on Halloween and April Fool's Day, when her love of a good prank kept everyone on their toes.
She greatly valued her time at Canada Games B-Fit and WellSpring exercise programs, where she found both strength and community. Beth will be remembered for her strong personality, mischievous humor, deep love for her family, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will take place at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a service to follow in the Lamb Chapel of the funeral home at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WellSpring Niagara or the Walker Family Cancer Centre (through the Niagara Health Foundation), and may be left along with online condolences at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
