DRAKE, ELIZABETH “Dorothy” EDNA – Peacefully, after a long struggle, at Garden City Manor, St. Catharines on Friday, September 19, 2025 in her 89th year. Beloved mother of Michael. Loyal sister to Sharon McGean and Michael Terrance Drake, David Drake and stepsister Dorothy Mason, but predeceased by her siblings Jack (Dorothy), June (Lloyd) Currie, Patricia (George “Shorty”) Peters, Bertram “Chick” and Michael Terrance’s infant twin brother. Also predeceased by her parents Bert and Irene, and her stepmother Millicent “Billie” (Née Mason). She will be fondly remembered by her many, many nieces and nephews in the Niagara and Halifax regions. Dorothy worked as a base foreman in the Department of Transportation in Halifax. When she moved to Niagara, she worked as a waitress at many restaurants, including Prudhomme’s, the Skylon Tower, and King George’s Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Dorothy’s second passion was Bingo, with long afternoon’s spent with Sharon at the Bingo Hall, but her first priority was Michael, even in his adulthood. Visitors will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her family at a later date.
