Dorothy May R.N. Carullo

Carullo, Dorothy May (Ormston) R.N. ~ with great sadness the family of Dorothy Carullo announce her peaceful passing at home on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Sam Carullo (2003). Forever loved and missed by daughters Maria (Greg) Gilmour and Christina (Lee) Maier. Cherished Nanny of Lisa (Allman), John, Alison, Samantha and Cassandra. Dear sister-in-law of Jean Ormston. Dorothy will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was the youngest of eight siblings, and although she was born in Canada, she always remained true to her British heritage. She was a life long resident of St. Catharines. Dorothy attended Collegiate High School and was a proud graduate of the Mack Training School for Nurses, class of 1942. She was employed with the St. Catharines General Hospital, Hotel Dieu and also did private duty nursing. Dorothy's love for family and friends was expressed in the volumes of letters and cards she sent, locally, to the U.S., England and especially to her life long pen pal Simonne in France. Her gentle spirit, kind, loving disposition, beautiful blue eyes and smile will never be forgotten.
