Donald Wark

Passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, in his 89th year. Don was born on July 11, 1928, in Merritton, where he grew up and met the love of his life Sylvia. They were married in 1949 and spent their lives happily together for 63 years. Don was a talented mechanic for over 45 years, owning and operating businesses in St. Catharines, retiring in 1992. Outside of his work life, he enjoyed numerous outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and water skiing. He was passionate about his Arabian horses and also spending winters in their home in Florida and summers at their cottage on Lake Erie. Don has been reunited with his beloved wife Sylvia (2012), and was predeceased by his parents Francis and Doris Wark. Don will be lovingly remembered by his children, Alan (Mary) Wark of Caistor Centre, Donna (Lawrie) Vincer of Sundridge, and Douglas (Catherine) Wark of Pelham. Cherished Grandpa of Lee (Sandy), Tanya-Dawn (Dale), Doug (Diana), Maxx and Matthew. Great-Grandpa of Sophie, Chloe, Eric and Emma. Dear brother of Marilyn (the late Art) Buchanan. Don's family will receive friends at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations given to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
