Donald Gregoire

GREGOIRE, DONALD REGINALD – Peacefully with his loving family at his side, on Monday April 28, 2025 at Hospice Niagara, Don passed away at the age of 86. He was a devoted Catholic and believed in his faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marlene (nee LaVigne). A kind and loving father to Cathie (Gary) Price, John (Sherry), Donna (Bob) Martens, Linda (Steve) Ingham, David (Lynsey) and son-in-law Rob Holland. Loving father to his eldest daughter, the late Susan Holland (2020). Poppa to 14 Grandchildren: Stephanie, Kaleigh, Collin, Courtney, Drew, Aimee, Samantha, Dalton, Taryn, Cody, Derek, Brennan, Bryer and Belle. Great Poppa to 11 great grandchildren: Mikael, Hunter, Riley, Remington; Wesley Jr; Sadie, Izabella, Grayson, Owen, Caleb, Arya. Predeceased by his brother and best friend, Paul (2018). (Surviving spouse Alice), Don will be missed by many relatives and friends. Don cherished his family and was at his happiest when surrounded by family. He was proud and loved each of his children and their accomplishments. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him much happiness. He felt blessed with his life and family. Don enjoyed researching the family genealogy back to the year 1685 when his family arrived in Canada. His hobbies included collecting stamps and interesting rocks. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping and both playing and watching sports. His favourite hockey team was the Montreal Canadiens. Don started his career as a teacher in Midland, Victoria Harbour and St. Catharines. He later became Business Administrator for the Thorold Separate School Board. With the board's amalgamation, he continued working with the NCDSB until retirement. Don touched the hearts of many with his friendly and welcoming smile. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The Knights Vigil Prayer Service for brother Don Gregoire to be celebrated at 6:00 PM.  A proclamation will be read and an engraved Cross from the Knights of Columbus 2319 will be presented to brother Don’s family.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Friday at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery. Due to allergies, donations in lieu of flowers to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
