GIROTTI, DINO – Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in his 101st year. Beloved husband of the late Ida (Née Ricci) (2003) and his infant son Joseph (1962). Sadly leaving behind his son Vincent (Patti) and daughter Angela (Robert) Dittrick, and his two grandchildren Andrew and Deanna. Dino is survived by his brother Mario (the late Theresa) and his sister-in-law Anna (the late Guerino “Scotty”). He is also predeceased by his siblings Silvio (Josepina), Nello (Lavrina), Marino (Anne) and Mary (Olivio) Bianco; and brothers-in-law Nicola (Michelina) Ricci and Angelo (Edith) Ricci. Dino will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and his friends. Dino was a WWII veteran stationed in Jamaica. Upon his return to Merritton, Dino joined the family business Girotti Machine, and met his wife, Ida. Then, with his brothers, he started two other businesses: Hy-Grade Precast Concrete and Girotti Sculptured Art. He retired at the age of 68, and enjoyed his passions: bowling, wine making and cards – you couldn’t get anything past him in a card game. You could always find Dino on the front porch on a sunny day, glass of vino in hand, waving to all who passed by. Dino was an avid sports fan, loyally supporting both the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Red Sox. He was also a strong supporter of his Merritton community, especially St. Patrick’s Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 17, Thorold. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUOS FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 2:00- 4:00 and 6:00- 8:00 PM. Vigil prayers will be recited at 2:00 PM. A service by the members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 will be held at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church 31 Chestnut Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery. Donations to St. Vincent De Paul, Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left, along with online condolences at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
Dino’s family wishes to thank Veterans Affairs Canada and Ontario Health at Home for the care given.
