DOWNES, DAVID “SMOKEY” – Peacefully, with his siblings surrounding him, David passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 61. Smokey, a lifelong “Merritton Boy” at heart, will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Bob (Donna), Geoff (Karen), Leslie (Paul) Savard, Pam (Gary) Fickes, Fred (Shelley), George (Selena), his many nieces and nephews and his daughter Brittany. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Beryl Downes. A graveside service to lay David to rest with his parents at Victoria Lawn Cemetery 431 Queenston Street St. Catharines will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM. You can access the cemetery from the entrance at the end of Emmet Road or meet the family at the main gates prior to service time. A celebration of his life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 138 Merritton - 2 Chestnut Street East.
