Danny Bye

Bye, Danny ~ It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Danny, surrounded by his family and close friends, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, on October 8, 2012 at the age of 74. Hero, best friend and cherished husband of 45 years to Linda (Wallington) Bye. Treasured father of Francine (Joe) Serravalle, Tammy Martel and Wendy Bye. Adored and devoted Grandpa to Lindsay (Jeff Deakin), Jazmin, Luke (Corie), Ashley, Cassidy and Joey. Beloved brother of Ted (Midge) and Richard (Edna) and brother-in-law of Carole (Mike) Jackman, Gwen Bye and Claire Bye. Predeceased by parents William and June Bye, brothers Bill, Tom, Don and Barry, parents-in-law Wallace and Mary Wallington and son-in-law Ernie Labelle. Uncle Danny will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Danny was retired from Overland Express (TNT) after 40 years of service. His passion for car racing began first as a young stock car driver, then later as owner/crew chief for his nephew, Rick Bye. He founded and ran the Allanburg Nascar Club for over 20 years. Danny will be sadly missed by many dear friends and the racing buddies from "Dan's Garage" especially Ted, Andy, Bobby and Dale. The family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology Units at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Hughes, Dr. Cassleman and Tarra. Special thanks to his granddaughter, Lindsay for her excellent nursing care.
