Wrapped in the arms of the angels, Dan passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Greater Niagara General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family in his 69th year. Soulmate and best friend to Cindy (née Whincop) for almost 49 years. Cherished Dad of Candice (Chad) McKinnon, Cassandra (JD) and Darren (Leslie). Proud Papa of Chastity (Matt), Cayla, Carson, Cyla, Capri, Leya, Livia and Daniel and Pépère to Maverick and another blessing on the way. Beloved Son to Claudette and the late Jack (2001), and son-in-law to the late Leonard and Joan Whincop. Dear brother to Patricia Goldsworthy, Susan (Don) Labatt, Ken (Diane) Meloche, Mike (Becky) Meloche and the late Stephen, and brother-in-law to Janine Carr, Victoria (Tim) Boseman and the late Curtis (surviving spouse Anna) Whincop. Uncle Dan will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Dan grew up in the TAAA and spent any spare time coaching or playing hockey or baseball, until he discovered his biggest sports passion, golf. A devoted family man, Dan placed his loved ones at the centre of his life. He and Cindy shared a love of camping, travelling throughout Canada and enjoying a memorable journey to the East Coast. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 4:00 -7:00 PM. Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated in the Lamb Chapel of the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Dan will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
