Michael, Christopher ~ July 16, 1972-July 2, 2011 It is with deep regret that the family of Christopher announces his sudden passing on July 2, 2011. Chris was passionately devoted to his family, friends and career, and very accomplished in every aspect of his life. Deep love and devotion describe what Chris gave to others and what he received in return. Left to deal with the profound shock of his loss, and to live by his example, are his loving wife Diane (nee Gilkinson), his beautiful son Evangelos (Evan), his second child to be born later this year, his parents Phaethon and Lenia, brother Tony (Elsa), their son Markos, his sister Marianne Kyriakopoulos (Tom) and their son Stathis. Also in deep mourning and suffering his loss are his mother and father-in-law Sharon and Brian Gilkinson, and Diane's siblings, Kristen Summers (Jason) and Kevin (Kim). All who knew Chris loved and respected him. His bright wit, wink of an eye as well as his engaging and gregarious nature endeared him to all. Chris was a down to earth man of high intelligence who spent many years devoted to his career in education, where he excelled. Most recently he applied his many talents to his position as Chair of Academic Studies at Niagara College. He was known and respected for his genuine interest in the welfare and progress of students and in his continual devotion to devising better ways to improve structure and process. Chris was a remarkable man, in every aspect of his life, and his passing will be marked by profound regret by all who knew him.
