Listen to Obituary
Maddalena, Carmela (Brunetti) ~ "to laugh often and love much; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived - this is to have succeeded." Surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Monday, March 3, 2008 in her 68th year. Beloved and adored wife of 49 years to Luigi Maddalena. Predeceased by her parents Antonio Brunetti and Maria DiFelice of Castropignano, Italy and by daughter, Anna Maria (1985). Loving mother of Santina and Greg Yacyshyn, Frank, Liana and Chris Kremizis. Nonna will be sadly missed but always remembered by her grandchildren Dean and Annalisa Yacyshyn and Gabriella, Daniel and Matthew Maddalena. Dear sister of Filomena (the late Raffaele) Tedeschi and Vito (Santina) Brunetti both of Italy. Cherished sister-in-law of the late Benilda (Domenico) Macoretta of Argentina, Carmela (the late Guido) Venditti, Concetta (the late Pasquale) Pizzacalla, Maria (the late Sauro) Battista, Enza (Nicola) Palumbo and Grace (the late Albino) DiBartolomeo. Carmela will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and active parishioner and a member of the Italian choir at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold. She brought a smile to everyone she met during her years working at Brock University and she will be fondly remembered by all her friends and co-workers.
