ZAPPAVIGNA, Carlo It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of Carlo. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital, at the age of 57. Beloved father of Michelle Zappavigna and Alexandra (Lloyd "Butchie") Orman. Proud Nonno of Ariana and Amiah. Forever loved son of Santa (née Cirillo) and the late Paolo Zappavigna (1994). Cherished brother of Lisa Nigro and Grace (Frank) Cuffaro and the late Carmelo Zappavigna (1993). Dear uncle of Nicole and Matthew Nigro and Paolo and Selena Cuffaro. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carlo will be remembered for his loving spirit, sense of humour, his infectious laugh, magnetic compassion and charm. A special thank you to the emergency paramedics, ER staff, Dr. Rogovein, Dr. Meyers and all the nursing staff in the ICU (all at St. Joseph's Hospital) for their exceptional care and support. Visitation will be held at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, on Friday, December 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Words of Remembrance will be shared in the funeral home, Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to St. Michael's Homes (Toronto) in loving memory of Carlo.
