Brian Parkin

Parkin, Brian ~ peacefully, after a brave and valiant battle, on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the age of 60. Loving and devoted husband of 38 years to Mary (Murley) Parkin. Cherished father of Paul (Kyla) and Nicholas (Tracy). "Little Papa" will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jeremy, Lexy, Cole, Hana, Emma and Brooke. Predeceased by parents John and Avril Parkin. Special son-in-law of Ray and the late Margaret (Oct. 11, 2009) Murley. Dear brother of Gary, Daniel (Robyn) and Ronald (Verna) and brother-in-law of Stephen (Sandra) Murley, Les (Toni) Murley and Lorrie (Patrick) Eyerley. Brian will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Brian worked as the General Manager of Electronic Supermarket for over 25 years. He was an active and dedicated member of The Lions Club of Merritton for over 27 years holding many positions including President and Past President. Brian won the Melvin Jones Award in 2004, the Helen Keller Award in 2002 and the Judge Brian Stevenson Award in 1995 for his service and dedication to others. Brian played pro soccer for the Vancouver White Caps, played baseball and coached minor hockey and baseball in the Merritton and St. Catharines area.
