Brian Joseph Mckinnon

McKinnon, Brian Joseph ~ passed peacefully at home in Toronto on Saturday, January 7, 2012 after a long battle with illness, fought with dignity and great courage. Predeceased by parents Angelene (1989) and Charlie (2000). Beloved husband of Deborah. Loving father of Duncan and Jennifer and Shawn and Tori. Cherished brother of Cathy, Maureen, Jim, Debbie, Kelly, Guy, Mike, Christopher and Tracey. Predeceased by brother Jim (2007). Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Brian lived his life with great vigour, strength and determination. He owned and operated a travel business in Hamilton for many years earning the unconditional friendship and respect of clients and colleagues alike. In 2001, he returned to work as a contractor and carpenter for which he had an amazing talent and great passion. In recent years, he built and renovated Aquinnah, his beloved east coast cottage, where happy times were spent golfing with family and friends, walking on the beach looking for seaglass and spending quiet times as he looked out over the ocean from his screened porch. Brian will always be remembered for his kind heart and his fierce loyalty to those he loved.
