VORSTENBOSCH, BARBARA JANET (Née Thomson) – Peacefully, at Hospice Niagara on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Martin (2017). Cherished mother of Frank Slater, Lee (Bridget) Miller, Nancy-Jo (Charles) Cressey and Beth Horvath (Bruce). Loving Nana to Shelby (Jonny) De Oliveira, Robyn Miller (Hayden Sullivan), Grey Cressey (Miranda), Joshua Cressey, Joseph Horvath, and Samantha Horvath (Hunter). Proud great-grandmother to Benjamin and Emily. Beloved sister to Brian Thomson, Bob (Joy) Thomson, Kathy (Tim) Dreher and Janice (Larry) Schenk. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Barbara will also be missed by her faithful cats Sheamus and Fergus. Born and raised in Kitchener, Barb worked in health care at both local hospitals, before moving to Thorold. She enjoyed book clubs, and knitting with her friends from church, and prior to its closure volunteered many hours at St. James Anglican Church in Merritton in many capacities. Friends will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church 2878 St John's Drive, Jordan Station on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Private family interment Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
