OLIVA, AUGUSTINE JOE "GUS" - Peacefully, on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Hotel Dieu Shaver in his 92nd year. Reunited with the love of his life, Margaret "Peg" (née Petrie). Dear father to Wendy (Maurice) Gionet, Laurie (Scott) Roland and Kelly Oliva (Kevin Komher). Proud Poppa to Nicole (Ignacio), Dana (Ryan), Corey, Casey (Matt) and Brayden. Great Poppa to Kinsley, Wilder and Jaxon. Gus is predeceased by his sister Evelyn. Gus was a prominent figure in local sports, coaching hockey, umpiring baseball and was the proud recipient of the Daryl Mahler coaching award. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 27 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery.
