Arthur Alexander Buchanan

BUCHANAN, Arthur Alexander July 30, 1930 - May 19, 2017 (Retired Transport Driver after 37 years of service) - After a long battle with heart disease and many times beating the odds, Art died at the age of 86. More than once over the last five years, he was told he wouldn't have much longer, but his will to live was strong. Cherished husband for 64 years to Marilyn (Wark). Dearly loved father of Sharon (Brian Gilkinson), Bruce Buchanan (Cathy) and Cathy (Dan Toppari). Much loved grandfather of Diane (Mark), Kristen (Jason), Kevin (Kim), Sherri (Derek), Jamie (Erika), Ryan (Danielle), Kayla (Kenny), Jason (Melissa) and Melissa (Jordan). Remembered always and loved by his twelve great grandchildren and one soon to be great grandson. Predeceased by his parents George & Mildred Buchanan, step-mother Mary Buchanan and granddaughter Diane's first husband Christopher Michael. Art will be greatly missed by all. We could not have asked for a better Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
