Armond Joseph Chindemi

Chindemi, Armond Joseph ~ passed away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, December 28th, 2009 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Beloved husband to Angelina (Iannizzi) of Thorold for 63 years and father to both Michael (Linda) of Toronto and Wayne (Dagmar) of Grimsby. "Papa" to Jason, Matthew (Andrea), and Donovan; Lukas, Camilla, Nathan and Jade; Natalie and Alex Watkins. He will be sadly missed by his family and by his surviving brother Nobili "Paul" (Phyllis) of South Hampton, N.J. His predeceased brothers Rocco, Ontario "Sam", Orlando "Lon", Oreste "Rusty" and sister Parma "Pamela" await his arrival in paradise. Fondly remembered by surviving sisters-in law Yolanda (Rocco) of Welland, Frances (Oreste) of Fonthill, and Delores (Orlando) of Lewistown, N.Y.; Theresa (Frank) Bruzzese of Welland, Rae Scordino of Niagara Falls and to brother-in-law Nick Iannizzi of Thorold. He will be remembered as being a man with a generous and caring nature to all. To his many nieces and nephews he was a family man of traditional values. Armond also known as "Wayne" was a member of the Sacred Heart Council #2319 Knights of Columbus in Thorold; an ardent member of the Niagara Regional Amateur Radio Operators (VE3EQI) of both the Welland and St. Catharines chapters; and served his country in World War II and was a cub and scout leader for 10 years in Thorold. Born in Welland in 1922 but a resident of Thorold for the past 65 years, his latter years were spent in residence at Linhaven (Regatta House) in St. Catharines. The Family wishes to extend our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Regatta House including Dr. Wong, the many fine and caring nursing staff, the administration and support staff who made his final journey one of dignity and respect.
