PERSIA, Anna (Née Pace) - Surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at home at age 87. Beloved wife of the late Aristide. Loving Mother of John (Zossie), Rosanne (Jim) Russell, Laura (Dave) Rapattoni and Vanda. Nonna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Steve, Lindsay, Jenna, Bryon (Amanda), Matthew, Alyssa, Theresa and Kaitlin, predeceased by grandson Craig. Dear sister to Maria (Umberto) Di Marco and sister in law to Antonina Pace and Rita Pace and predeceased by brothers and sisters Mario Pace, Ersilia Gerasoli, Lauretta Tolli, and Joe Pace. Anna will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nonna Anna, the warmest, unconditionally loving person who lived and breathed for her family. She came from Italy in May of the year 1954 with her three year old son hoping for a better future in Canada for her family. Her first of many various jobs was at the Sussex Meat Packers. It was not uncommon for Nonna to work two jobs, all while raising four children. She was a member of the Italian Catholic Women's League, an active member of Holy Rosary Church and the Italian Association. Anna's family will receive their friends at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street Thorold, on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal will be celebrated at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Craig Matthew Persia Foundation or the Charity of your Choice.
