Tatarnic, Alexander ~ born March 14, 1913, a kind and gentle man, Alexander has gone to be with his dearly loved son George (1987). Alexander is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Ellen and dog Mitzi - his best friend. Papa Al is survived by his children, Sandy, Debbie (Bob), Bill (Monica) and Jason (Sara); grandchildren, Kris, Kolin (Tracy), Mike, Jesse, Kyle, Cassandra, Jacob and Bree. Great grandchildren Avery, Finley, Rory, Tommy, Josh, Bryson, Brody and Kylie (on the way) and his much loved sister, Jean in Canora, Saskatchewan. Alexander is predeceased by his parents John Michael and Julia, his brothers Joe, Walter and Bill. He worked for Hayes Dana retiring in 1976. Alexander was a veteran of WWII; an accomplished musician and bandleader; earning his degrees with the Royal Conservatory of Music; and a member of the Ukrainian Ballet Dance Troupe. He taught his children and grandchildren the love of music and leaves a fantastic lifetime legacy of music. He had a great love for hockey and had his 3rd level coach's certificate - he enjoyed playing ice hockey with his family and watching his children and grandchildren play the game. He also enjoyed waterskiing. Alexander dedicated his life to his family - we enjoyed all our northern vacations and weekly family picnics. We will miss him dearly - he taught us to be gentle and kind, to keep moving forward and always have a goal to work towards. We will always be grateful for our many wonderful memories of him. Thank you to Dr. Pringle and the caring staff at the Thorold Medical Clinic, the nursing staff of C4 East, St. Catharines General Hospital and Dr. Natalie Nova.
